This Jewish New Year was bittersweet.
So many delicious meals and time spent with loved ones. Moments of real joy, followed by tinges of guilt for allowing myself to let go for a minute, an hour, an afternoon. I felt everyone lingered just a bit longer at the table, cleaving to the beauty of community and family and few hours’ escape from the inevitable anniversary that was mere days away.
