Cauliflower Fritters With Capers & Raisins
For the fifth night of Chanukah (and any night of the year)
After landing on Friday afternoon and heading straight into a beautiful bar mitzvah weekend of dear friends, I finally had the chance to fry up latkes for my own family at home. I hadn’t seen Jay’s kids or the grandkids in almost a month, and it was a happy reunion with presents (thank you, Target Baltimore), lots of hugs and precious time to catch up on personal news (such a welcome relief from the constant drumbeat of actual headlines). For the meal I went full-classic, using my food processor to shred a few pounds of potatoes. Of course it would be enough, right? Wrong. My institutional memory on this one is short, and as usual every last one was consumed—with me and Jay ordering a pizza later that night because we were still hungry.
